ARLINGTON, Texas >> Richard Silva grades the Detroit Lions’ performance in their 47-9 blowout win over the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday.

Quarterbacks

It didn’t take long for Jared Goff’s streak of perfection to end, as his first pass against the Cowboys fell harmlessly to the ground after he had an 18-for-18 performance against the Seattle Seahawks in Week 4. But he bounced back well in Week 6, finishing the day with a 72% completion percentage and 315 passing yards. He had a few big completions down the field, including a trick-play touchdown to tight end Sam LaPorta and a 37-yard scoring toss to receiver Jameson Williams in the second half. Also important was that he took care of the ball for the second straight game. It went so well, even backup Hendon Hooker got in on the action late.

Running backs

David Montgomery received a two-year contract extension Saturday, and he rewarded his team with a great showing Sunday; the bruising back totaled 80 rushing yards — averaging 6.7 per attempt — and two touchdowns. Montgomery also made some noise as a pass blocker, stonewalling a Dallas linebacker to give Goff enough time to hit receiver Tim Patrick for a 42-yard gain in the first quarter. In usual fashion, Jahmyr Gibbs offered a change of pace and racked up 63 yards on 12 carries, and he was involved in the pass game with three catches for 28 yards.

Wide receivers/tight ends

Four receivers had at least 35 yards, and three — Williams (76), Kalif Raymond (73) and Patrick (68) — had 65 or more. LaPorta added 52 to boot, as just about everyone got involved. The ability of Williams to stretch the field, despite the fact that he can no longer sneak up on teams, has been crucial to Detroit’s recent offensive success. Amon-Ra St. Brown was limited to 37 yards, but he joined in on the fun with a touchdown catch late.

Offensive line

Goff was sacked twice, but the pass protection was quite solid and the run game was clicking on all cylinders.

The Lions tried and tried to get an offensive lineman a touchdown — they threw a pass to left tackle Taylor Decker which landed incomplete, and they ran a hook-and-ladder to right tackle Penei Sewell that was called back due to center Frank Ragnow being too far down the field — but couldn’t
