


The Woodland Community College Fund recently announced that this year’s Eagles of Excellence celebration fundraiser is set for Friday, April 11, inside the school’s Performing & Culinary Arts Center at 2300 E. Gibson Road.
According to a WCC press release, this special evening will honor outstanding individuals and organizations who have made a lasting impact on the Woodland College, its students, and the broader community.
The event also serves as a vital fundraiser, with proceeds benefiting math, music, arts, and culinary programs, soccer, and student emergency grants.Honorees for 2025:
Deputy Chief Dallas Hyde — Distinguished Alumnus
Dr. Matthew Clark (posthumously) — WCC Faculty Member
Joan Penning — Classified Professional
Gloria U. Rodriguez — Community Leader
Woodland Sunrise Rotary Club — Community Organization
The evening will begin with a 5:00 p.m. reception featuring light refreshments prepared by WCC’s esteemed culinary students, followed by a short program recognizing the honorees.
In 2024, honorees included community member Elyse Doyle-Martinez, retired adjunct WCC faculty Paul Dilley, WCC classified member Raymond ‘Ray’ Sandoval, retired WCC Adjunct Faculty James ‘Jim’ Schulte and WCC alumni Christina Thomas.
Beyond celebrating these remarkable individuals, this event plays a crucial role in supporting scholarships and student programs that empower students to achieve their academic and career goals.
Tickets cost $50 and include drinks and appetizers. Sponsorship opportunities are also available to help make this event a success and provide life-changing support for students.
