Resident of Los Gatos

Sylvia Ann Moore passed away on January 26, 2025 at the age of 92. Sylvia was born in Nampa, Idaho. Sylvia earned her undergraduate degree in Physical Education from the University of Idaho and went on to complete her Masters in Physical Education from San Jose State University.

Sylvia started her career in Moses Lake, Washington teaching the eighth grade. In 1962, then transitioned back to the Bay Area and taught at Campbell Union High School and Blackford High School. In 1966, she taught at Del Mar for ten years and Leigh High schools for fifteen years.

Sylvia was a world traveler, most notably visiting China, Japan and Brazil. She lived in Munich, Germany for three years working for the Department of Defense.

Sylvia was passionate about giving back to the Community and devoted many volunteer hours working as an advocate with The Assistance League of Los Gatos-Saratoga, Saint Andrews Episcopal Church in Saratoga, California on Alter Guild and the Echo Shop.

Sylvia loved the Opera and Symphony. She also enjoyed golf and skiing as well as, Jazzercize and Curves.

Servies will be held on Saturday, March 8, 2025 at 10:00 at Saint Andrews Episcopal Church at 13601 Saratoga Avenue in Saratoga, California 95070.
