The Supreme Court has overwhelmingly rejected President Trump’s intent to disenfranchise millions of voters in his failed attempts to overturn the results of the election. The Electoral College has also recorded the ballots from all 50 states. This leaves Trump little time and fewer options, with the only possibility of reaching out to another authoritarian leader and calling his buddy Vladimir Putin to see if he would agree to interfere.

To Rose from Lemont, you need to pull your head out of the sand. Most of the federal judges have been appointed by Trump and most of the American people believe in democracy not dictatorship. The Constitution and the rule of law governs and there was no fraud, and until you and your fellow Trumpettes realize that Trump lost and face the music you will be lost forever.

Geri, Tinley Park

Poor, deluded Rose from Lemont. The job of judges is to fairly apply the laws — to everyone. Many of the judges who ruled against the lawsuits brought by our current president, other Republican officeholders or right-wing organizations were appointed by Republicans. Our current president appointed three conservative judges to the Supreme Court. As to judges “listening to what the American people want,” there are many American people, I’m among them, who feel the judges correctly did their jobs.

Rose, you complain that the Supreme Court is run by the Democrats, which is odd considering that there now is a 6-3 conservative majority on the court and the cases that were rejected were unanimous. Many of the federal courts that threw out the lame lawsuits filed by the Trump cult lawyers were also filled with Republican and Trump appointed judges. Under the process called federalism, one state cannot tell other states what to do. Perhaps the Trump cult members ought to realize that these efforts were wrong, unconstitutional and certainly undemocratic.

Paul, Tinley Park

Rose from Lemont and others who missed this in American history or civics classes: The Supreme Court is not supposed to listen to what the American people or our political parties or politicians want. The Supreme Court should base their decision on facts and the law. They are the protector of the Constitution and help ensure a separation of power. The justices should be fair and unbiased.

Dolly, Homer

To Rose of Lemont, the Supreme Court did what they were supposed to do by following the letter of the law and the Constitution, plus there was absolutely no evidence of election tampering.
