AGGRAVATED ASSAULT: Levell V. Bess, 44, Chicago, was accused of aggravated assault and resisting after grappling with an officer during a Nov. 14 public intoxication arrest in the 6200 block of 79th Street, police said.

Crete

BURGLARY ATTEMPT: Police are investigating an Oct. 29 attempt by someone to open cash registers at McDonald’s, 1350 Steger Road.

REVOKED DRIVER: James A. Wilder, 54, 26000 block of Winston Lane, unincorporated Will County near Crete, is charged with aggravated fleeing/21 mph over the limit and driving on a revoked license, according to court records online. Wilder led police on a 3-mile chase Oct. 17 at speeds reaching 80 mph on Illinois Route 394 before crashing at the intersection of Burville road and State Street, police said. A Nov. 21 court hearing will also address felony and traffic charges from his driving interaction with Beecher and Crete police March 7, court records show.

Evergreen Park

ROBBERY: Two men wearing hoodies and ski masks took nearly $700 at gunpoint at Nov. 12 from 7-Eleven, 2747 95th St., police said.

ILLEGAL GUN: Cecil P.J. Harris, 31, Chicago, was arrested Nov. 15 in the 9100 block of Western Avenue and accused of aggravated unlawful use of a weapon after officers recovered a .380 caliber handgun reported stolen in Chicago in his duffle bag and determined he lacked required gun permits, police said.

AGGRAVATED ASSAULT: A resident of the 9800 block of California Avenue told police he was threatened at gunpoint Nov. 17 after confronting an unidentified man who urinated in the alley behind his garage and then ran away. A car pulled up a few minutes later and the driver got out, brandishing a gun, before his passenger pulled him away and they drove off, police said.

Homewood

IDENTITY THEFT: Lawrence Hurst, of Chicago, was arrested Oct. 26 and accused of aggravated identity theft of a victim at least 60 years old and possessing a fraudulent driver’s license after using someone’s license to try to open a line of credit at Best Buy, 17800 Halsted St., police said.

THEFT: Erica Chiang, 39, first block of Wedgewood Road, Matteson, was arrested Oct. 29 and accused of theft of more than $500 after depositing a $6,250 check from a closed bank account at a currency exchange in the 800 block of Maple Street, police said.

New Lenox

BURGLARY: A patrolling officer responded Nov. 8 to a report of a liquor store break-in United Liquors, 148 Illinois Highway, Lockport, police said. The individuals exited through the store’s glass front door and drove a high rate of speed to Interstate 355, police said.

Oak Lawn

REGISTRATION FAILURE: Perry Jackson, 43, Chicago, was arrested Nov. 8 for failing to annually register with the Illinois State Police sex offender database after he was found sleeping on the front porch of a home in the 9600 block of Kenneth Avenue, police said. Jackson was convicted in Cook County of criminal sex abuse when the victim was 58 and he was 27, according to Illinois State Police.

DEALING ALLEGED: Officers encountered a Chicago man with $1,459, a hydroponic grow tent and a sandwich bag containing suspected cannabis on a scale next to multiple sandwich bags containing suspected cannabis Nov. 12 while responding to concerns about a squatter in a rental residence on Pulaski Road, police said. Lorenzo M. Garry, 32, was charged with manufacturing/delivering cannabis after detectives recovered 136.2 grams of cannabis during a search, police said.

Orland Park

BLEACHER BATTERY: Police say an Oldsmar, Florida man attacked an California man Oct. 26 after a traveling hockey game ended at Arctic Ice Arena, 10700 160th St. George P. Brkljacic, 52, was accused of battery based on witness statements and video showing he put his hands on the other individual, police said.

DUI CRASH: James T. Anderson, 31, 18100 block of Lake Shore Drive, Orland Park, was arrested and accused of drunken driving and failing to reduce speed to avoid a collision Oct. 27 after rear-ending another car at 143rd Street and Wolf Road, police said.

DUI CRASH: Ellen T. Maatman, 61, 200 block of Le Jeune Avenue, Lockport, was arrested Oct. 30 and accused of drunken driving and failing to reduce speed to avoid a collision after rear-ending another vehicle at 143rd Street and Southwest Highway, police said.

Park Forest

AGGRAVATED DUI: Larry D. Lewis, 38, Chicago, was arrested Oct. 26 and accused of aggravated drunken driving/revoked license, aggravated driving on a revoked license, illegally transporting alcohol and improper lane use after turning into oncoming traffic at Orchard Drive and Indianwood Boulevard, police said.

DUI CRASH: A Chicago man who drove from Western Avenue through several front yards on Sauk Trail is scheduled to appear in Cook County court at Markham on Dec. 6, police said. Eric J. Maxwell, 40, was arrested Nov. 3 near the intersection of Sauk Trail and Osage Street and accused of drunken driving, failing to reduce speed to avoid a collision and improper lane use, police said.

Steger

AGGRAVATED BATTERY: Andre Keys, 59, Chicago, was arrested Nov. 12 and accused of aggravated battery at Party Liquors, 20 E. Steger Road, after slapping an employee’s face while attempting to exchange two bottles of liquor for one larger-sized bottle without a receipt, police said.
