Resident of Danville

It is with heavy heart that we announce the sudden passing of Sylvia. She was born in Canonsburg, PA, the third daughter of parents John and Irene Marosz. After high school she attended a local college to pursue a business degree. For a period of time, she entered the corporate world in a high-profile position.

She married Gerald (“Jerry”) Coburn in 1969. They were blessed with the birth of Dana Danielle while living in St. Louis. Motherhood became her ultimate calling. The family relocated to Danville in 1973.

She joined a local dental practice in 1978 as the office manager, and was instrumental in its growth and operation until her retirement in 2009.

She was loving, caring and supportive in many ways, and she touched so many lives with her beautiful smile, warm personality, listening ear and welcoming spirit. Her pets were particular beneficiaries of her love. She always shared a special relationship with her beloved dogs & horses. Being with dog, Mattie, volunteering for Xenophon Therapeutic Riding Center, &spending time at Summit Ranch were all happy places for her.

Sylvia was a woman of faith, with a firm foundation (a “strong Polish woman”). She held fervent personal beliefs and convictions (and she would readily share them). She is survived by husband, Jerry, daughter, Dana Danielle, sisters LaVerne (Chuck) Walters and Esther King, and several nieces and nephews. She cherished each and every one.

Services will be held at St. Isidore Catholic Church, Wednesday, April 23 at 10:30 am.

There is another angel in heaven, and bright star in the sky. May she rest in eternal peace. In lieu of flowers consider donations to Xenophon Therapeutic Riding Center (www.xenophontrc.org). Interment will be at Our Queen of Heaven in Lafayette, CA
