CHRISTMAS IN THE BAY AREA
Holiday spirit is all aglow
TOP: The Oakland California Temple, which stands 170 feet tall and is associated with The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, has holiday lights in a variety of forms on a long stretch in front of the building. It was the first temple built with five spires, taking inspiration from sacred sites in Asia to reflect the diversity of Bay Area residents. RIGHT: Christmas lights at the intersection of Glen Brooke and Glen Eyrie avenues in Willow Glen in San Jose spell out a holiday message and provide a type of tunnel for pedestrians to walk under as they check out the bright display.
