Sheriff’s office investigates suspicious death

The Boulder County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a suspicious death in the 8000 block of Overland Road near Ward, which was reported at 9:37 a.m. on Saturday, according to a press release.

The reporting party directed rescue personnel and deputies to the victim, who was pronounced dead on scene. The Boulder County Sheriff’s Office detective bureau is investigating the death, according to the release.

The Boulder County Coroner’s Office will identify the person and notify next of kin. Police anticipate additional information will be released as the investigation continues.

Cyclist identified in death near U.S. 36 and Broadway

The Boulder County Coroner’s Office has identified Juliane Herlihy, 36, as the cyclist who died in a crash Monday afternoon in north Boulder.

According to Colorado State Patrol Trooper Sherri Mendez, at 1:17 p.m., Colorado State Patrol troopers were dispatched to a fatal crash involving a pick-up truck and a cyclist near Broadway and U.S. 36.

Herlihy was headed southbound on U.S. 36 when a pick-up truck hit her with his passenger side mirror, according to Colorado State Patrol Sgt. Patrick Rice.

The driver of the pick-up truck, a 44-year-old man from Boulder, cooperated with the investigation and stayed on scene, Rice said.

The crash is still being investigated, and no charges have been filed, Rice said.

Police want to find man on e-bike in hit-and-run crash

Boulder police are asking for help in identifying a man on an e-bike who was reportedly involved in a hit-and-run collision on Tuesday.

The e-bike cyclist ran a red light going south on 47th Street at Colo. 119 and hit a Toyota Corolla that was headed eastbound around 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, according to a Boulder Police Department post on X.

The Toyota driver was uninjured, but her car suffered significant damage, according to the post.

The cyclist is described as possibly Latino or African American who is between 5-feet, 8-inches, and 5-feet, 10-inches, tall, with a medium build.

He is also described as being in his late teens or early 20s. The man was last seen wearing a white or gray sweatshirt and brown or khaki pants.
