Readers respond to Question of the Week:
Who should be our next governor?
More than likely it will be another Democrat
The sheeple of California know no bounds when it comes to voting in people who would do this great state harm. Unfortunately, it will most likely be yet another Democrat wanting to continue the downward death spiral our state is in. Very sad.
— Pete Burkhart, Woodland Hills
Brian Dahle is the perfect candidate
In 2022, I supported Brain Dahle, and I will do so again in 2026. Brian Dahle is the perfect candidate to bring real change to California. Having a farmer’s perspective makes him a perfect leader for the Golden State, not a lifelong politician. The ideals he promotes are solid, and he is his own man, unwilling to bend to the whims of the political elitists, as he works to benefit Californians in all areas of government. The fact that he comes from such a solid family makes him a solid candidate who has a good chance of beating Democrat Kamala Harris.

A Republican in 2026
I think that the next election for governor will go Republican. People will want a change.

My pick for California governor
Rick Caruso.

Anybody but Harris
I am registered independent, but I identify with the Republicans. The state is too blue and doesn’t seem to learn from past mistakes.
I cannot see Republicans winning the state Legislature or governorship.
Admittedly Republicans have made some inroads (i.e. Prop 36 and the dumping of Gascon).
They are not there yet. I don’t know if they’ll ever get there. I’ll say this, though, anybody but Harris.

Stephen Cloobeck
Stephen Cloobeck sounds good to me but no name recognition so no chance.
