The College of Marin baseball team built an early lead in a crucial home game against Los Medanos on Tuesday but couldn’t hold it, surrendering seven runs over the final three innings in an 8-5 loss.

The Mariners (26-11-1, 16-3 Bay Valley Conference) fell into a three-way tie for first place with Laney and Los Medanos — winners of eight and 10 games in a row, respectively.

COM wraps up the season with two more games against Los Medanos (24-13, 16-3) on Thursday and Friday. Laney (26-12, 16-3) closes with a pair of games against last-place Contra Costa (3-30, 1-18).

Wyatt Davis hit an RBI triple and Adrian Ruiz hit an RBI double as COM took a 4-1 lead into the sixth inning. Los Medanos scored once in the seventh and twice in the eighth to tie the game.

Smith Chandler led off the top of the ninth with a go-ahead home run for Los Medanos then Kai Smith hit a two-run homer for some insurance.

Boys tennis

San Domenico closed out its league campaign with a 5-2 win over Stuart Hall on Tuesday. The Panthers got wins from Toby Sadzeck and Tuan Le in singles and swept the three doubles matches.

Boys golf

Charlie Hansen and Dylan Siegel carded matching 37s to lead Marin Academy to a 1630185 win against Drew at par-36 Peacock Gap on Tuesday. Drayson Jaffee shot a 40 for MA (9-0, 7-0 BCL West). The Wildcats face one-loss University in an important match at the Presidio on Thursday.

• Beckman Watrous took medalist honors with a 35 at Meadow Club to lead Redwood to a 181-212 victory against Novato. Brody Root and Cole O’Connell both shot 36s for the Giants while Jack Mount and James Hamill both had 37s.

Men’s golf

Daniel Marmorstein shot a 1-over-par 73 to pace Dominican University on the second day of the PacWest Championships in North Las Vegas on Tuesday.

Marmorstein, who shot even par on Monday, is tied for 11th individually with a 145 while Jerred Scott is tied for 13th with a 147. Dominican sits sixth as a team with a 32-over 608. Hawaii Pacific leads the way with a score of 568.
