Michigan’s Fred Richard won his second straight all-around individual crown late Saturday night, and Cooper Kim and Jun Iwai each won individual titles to lead Stanford to its sixth NCAA men’s gymnastics championship since 2019.

Richard took home silver in the floor and parallel bars as he ran away with his third all-around individual national championship with a score of 83.598. Nebraska’s Max Odden (78.698) was second, 0.432 ahead of third-place Kristian Grahovski of Ohio State.

Stanford had 329.825 points, second-place Oklahoma finished with 328.495 and Michigan — the defending national champion — was third with 324.857. Asher Hong (14.300) took silver and Nick Kuebler (14.166) bronze on the rings in the final rotation to seal it for the Cardinal. Asher Cohen finished with a 14.500 to become the first Nebraska gymnast to win the rings since Jim Hartung in 1982.

Stanford claimed the program’s 11th national championship and the Cardinal has won at least one NCAA team title for 50 straight seasons, since the men’s water polo team beat UCLA 13-12 for the national championship on Nov. 28, 1976. The next longest active streak is North Carolina’s seven straight years with at least one team title.

Tennis

Shelton wins Munich Open: Ben Shelton bounced back from disappointment last year by defeating Flavio Cobolli 6-2, 7-5 to win the Munich Open.

Shelton lost the final to Alexander Zverev in 2025 and was determined not to let it happen again at the ATP 500 event.

It’s the sixth-ranked American’s fifth career title and second on clay.

Rybakina wins Stuttgart Open: Elena Rybakina defeated Karolina Muchova 7-5, 6-1 to win the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix for the second time.

It’s the first time the 26-year-old 2024 champion won a repeat title after claiming 12 in different tournaments previously.

The No. 2-ranked Rybakina converted four of her eight break-point opportunities to beat Muchova in 1 hour, 18 minutes.

NHL Playoffs

Avalanche top Kings in game 1: Logan O’Connor scored for the first time in more than a year, Scott Wedgewood stopped 24 shots in his first Stanley Cup playoffs start and the top-seeded Colorado beat Los Angeles in Game 1.

O’Connor’s third-period tally was his first since March 31, 2025. He missed most of the season with a hip injury. Artturi Lehkonen had a second-period goal for the Presidents’ Trophy-winning Avalanche.

Soccer

Bayern Munich wins Bundesliga title: Bayern Munich has clinched another Bundesliga title by easing to a 4-2 win over Stuttgart.

Harry Kane scored his 32nd league goal of the season after going on as a second-half substitute, and Bayern should have scored more Sunday against the overwhelmed Stuttgart defense.

The win moved Bayern an unassailable 15 points clear of second-placed Borussia Dortmund with four rounds of the German league remaining.
