ARIZONA: Linda Reed, whose family are long-time Tiburon residents, lives in Scottsdale these days. She says her recent jaunt to Winslow, Arizona, “was worth the excursion for this picture” alone — standing on a corner, channeling Eagles’ lyrics.

Winslow’s Standin’ on the Corner Park opened in 1999 to commemorate Jackson Browne and Glenn Frey’s famous song, “Take It Easy,” and boost tourism. The lyrics inspired the park’s two-story, trompe l’oeil mural, a bronze statue by a light pole — with guitar, of course — and the presence of a flatbed Ford that hasn’t just slowed down to take a look at me, it has stopped for photo opportunities.

TRAVEL TIPS: “There isn’t anything exciting to do in Winslow except to have a picture taken with Jackson Browne,” Linda says. But, she adds, “I loved it — unique experience.”
