The U.S. Marshals Service has arrested a wanted man in Maine who is suspected of sexual exploitation of a child in Broomfield.

An arrest warrant was issued for Patrick Byrne, 29, on Nov. 4 for two counts of sexual exploitation of a child out of Broomfield County Court, according to court records.

According to a release on Friday, Byrne was arrested in Livermore Falls, Maine, after the U.S. Marshals Service Maine Violent Offender Task Force received tips that Byrne was in the area.

Investigators later determined Byrne was residing in Maine and were able to locate and apprehend him safely at a residence in Livermore Falls, according to the release.

Byrne was charged as a fugitive from justice and is pending extradition back to Colorado.

The U.S. Marshals Service Main Violent Offender Task Force is comprised of members of the U.S. Marshals Service, the Maine Department of Corrections, Biddeford Police Department, U.S. Customs Border protection, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement and the Maine National Guard Counterdrug Program.

According to its website, the purpose of the task force is to apprehend the U.S. Marshal Service fugitives and state and local violent offenders.
