It is with broken hearts and treasured memories that the family of Frank Mason announce his passing. On the 14th of May 2025, at the tender age of 97, hs was taken from our sight, but never our hearts.

In 1938 Frank and his parents left England to spend a few years in South Africa & Southern Rhodesia, returning to England to become a pilot and educator.

In 1957 Frank and his new wife Gwendolyn, emigrated to Canada where he worked for de Havilland aircraft, taught technology classes and eventually decided to check out California, where heprocured aposition atLockheed, accomplished his doctorate from Stanford, founded Squadron 2 Flying Club.

And trained dozens of future professional pilots.

Frank and his late wife, friend and supporter of 52 years operated as a traditional family. With she as the homemaker and he as the breadwinner. He was once described as “The last of the Iron Man, and made James Bond look like a boy scout. He was awarded numerous certificates of appreciation, merit and accomplishments.

Including the National Aeronautic Association for his contributions to the aviation community in advancing the art, sport and science of aviation and space flight.

He now joins his beloved wife Gwendolyn, son Keith and son-in-law Jim. He is survived by his daughters Julie, Barbara and grandsons, James, Shane, Logan and Sam.d
