County hosting student debt relief programs

With 172,000 Oakland County residents carrying a collective $6 billion in student debt, this initiative provides a critical opportunity for financial relief. MATTHEW FAHR — THE OAKLAND PRESS
Oakland County is partnering with Savi to host an in-person event to help student borrowers navigate repayment and loan forgiveness programs on Wednesday, April 2.
Attendees will learn how to maximize savings through Savi’s platform, which has already helped 900 Oakland County residents.
The event will include a presentation from 6-7 p.m., with individual consultations available on a walk-in basis before and after, starting at 5:30 p.m. and 7 p.m.
Residents and county employees can register for the event via Eventbrite and access Savi’s services free of charge through Sept. 30.
