The presents are open and you have the day off, so now what do you do on Christmas Day?

While a lot of places are closed Dec. 25, there are still plenty of things you can do outside the house, and to help you with your holiday plans, here are 10 suggestions for spending Christmas Day around town.

Balloon Museum

For many people, balloons have a festive feel. The pop-up museum includes 20 inflatable installations by international artists that include mazes, landscapes, giant animals, LED-lit works and animated figures.

Buffet and brunch

You can get some Mexican grub on Christmas Day at an Acapulco, Chevys or El Torito restaurant. El Torito Mexican Grill and Acapulco Restaurant y Cantina will offer an all-you-can-eat buffet from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. El Torito’s buffet will include tri-tip and ham carving stations, while Acapulco locations will offer turkey and ham as well as unlimited mimosas and omelets. Chevys, meanwhile, will have brunch 10 a.m.-3 p.m.

Catch a flick

Forget Netflix and get out of the house, since most theaters will be open Dec. 25. Films debuting that day include the Bob Dylan biopic “A Complete Unknown” and Nicole Kidman’s erotic drama “Babygirl,” and to put you in a macabre holiday spirit, “Nosferatu” is opening, too.

Dave & Buster’s

You can party like a kid and bring the kids, too, to one of Dave & Buster’s nine SoCal locations. While the kids play games, the adults can chill at the bar and have a few naughty drinks and food, too. Most locations are open 4 p.m. to midnight Christmas.

Disneyland

When it comes to the holiday spirit in a commercial setting, there are few places that can beat Disneyland. Those who attend can expect a parade, fireworks and epic selfies in front of the park’s massive Christmas tree.

Festival of Lights

Self-guided tours of some amazing Christmas lights are available at The Mission Inn. The venue’s holiday display is made up of more than 10 million lights wrapped around giant nutcrackers, palm trees and buildings.

Frosty’s Christmas Bar

This is an over-the-top, immersive experience. Visitors will be surrounded by thousands of twinkling lights, snow, huge ornaments and holiday-themed drinks. 21 or older only.

Ice skating

No matter how warm the day, you can slip on some skates and go gliding at the various rinks open on Christmas Day. These include Ice at Santa Monica at 1324 Fifth St., Santa Monica; L.A. Kings Holiday Ice at 800 W. Olympic Blvd., Los Angeles; and Temecula on Ice at 41902 Main St., Temecula.

Pacific Park

On the more than 100-year-old Santa Monica Pier, this is an old-school carnival and amusement park with about a dozen rides, carnival games, food and plenty of performers roaming around.
