SANTA CRUZ >> To help young Santa Cruzans lock down summer jobs, the city of Santa Cruz Parks and Recreation Department is hosting a Teen Job Fair from 3 to 6 p.m. Monday at the London Nelson Community Center auditorium.

“This event is all about empowering young people and giving them the tools and confidence to step into their futures,” said event organizer Bernt Barbera in a statement. “It’s a one-stop shop for summer success.”

The fair will give youth the opportunity to speak with representatives from local businesses and organizations, who will offer their expertise and professional guidance. The event is intended for young people between the ages of 13 and 19, is free to attend and will include opportunities for seasonal summer jobs, internships, volunteering and career training programs.

The Teen Job Fair will also feature free resume reviews, skill-building and career training resources and a raffle for participants. The event is presented by the Santa Cruz Teen Center in partnership with Access 2 Employment.
