Board approves plan to replace residence

The Planning Commission has approved a home construction proposal at 111 Wiltshire Ave.

The quarter-acre property near the city’s southern limit includes a two-story, 2,424-square-foot house. The project involves demolishing the residence and building a two-story, 3,400-square-foot house with a 487-square-foot garage, according to the city planning office.

The project requires a setback variance, a slope use permit, a floor-area-ratio exception and a permit to remove three heritage bay trees.

The commission approved the plan at its meeting on Tuesday night, said Elise Semonian, the city community development director.

Advisory panel clears amended home plan

The Design Review Board has approved a revised construction proposal for 21 Mara Vista Court.

The property owners want to build a new 2,400-square-foot house and garage. The Design Review Board approved a plan in February. Neighboring residents appealed, saying a proposed deck above the garage would cause noise and privacy intrusions, among other objections. The Town Council heard the appeal in March and remanded the matter to the Design Review Board.

The property owners made several changes to the plan, including removing the deck from the top of the garage, according to a report by Samantha Bonifacio, a town planner. The Design Review Board approved the new plan at its meeting on July 17.
