AUSTRALIA: Sunnyvale residents Teresa and Tim Lydon’s recent three-week trip to New Zealand and Australia included a stop in Sydney to see the famous Sydney Harbor Bridge and Sydney Opera House. “Both the bridge and the opera house are wonderful pieces of architecture and a must-see,” Teresa says. “The roof of the opera house is actually two different colors, white and cream. The inside structure is not attached to the outside of the opera house — they are two separate structures.”

TRAVEL TIPS: “We had a couple of excursions that were great during our vacation. I would definitely recommend these. In Auckland, New Zealand, we took a ferry over to Waiheke Island to taste wine. There were several dozen wineries. Just the beautiful boat ride and beaches make it an even better day trip. “Also, several hours south of Auckland in Waitomo, there are ‘glow worm’ caves. The excursion included a talk by local Maori, the Indigenous culture, and a boat ride through the caves.”
