


Homicides were reported this past week in Dolton, Harvey and Sauk Village, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office.
In Dolton, a 30-year-old Chicago woman, Lanita Larticesa Hughes, of the 8000 block of South Burley Avenue, received a gunshot wound to the chest in the 14400 block of University Avenue.
She was pronounced dead Oct. 1 at 1:30 a.m. at Roseland Community Hospital in Chicago, and her death was ruled a homicide, according to the medical examiner’s office.
At 6 p.m. Thursday, Harvey resident Joshua Carter, 30, of the 100 block of West 154th Street, was pronounced dead after receiving multiple gunshot wounds, with his death ruled a homicide, according to the medical examiner’s office.
Another homicide was reported this past week in Harvey, in the 15700 block of Turlington Avenue where the victim died from multiple gunshot wounds, according to the office.
No other information regarding the victim was available Friday from the medical examiner’s office.
In Sauk Village, an Oak Lawn man was shot and later died at 6:43 a.m. Oct. 2 at Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, according to the office.
Eddie Edwards, 41, of the 9400 block of South Ridgeland Avenue, died from complications of a gunshot wound to the head that occurred in the 22200 block of Clyde Avenue in Sauk Village, according to the office, which ruled the death a homicide.
Additional information concerning the homicides was not available from police.
