Alex Noren got up-and-down on his last two holes Saturday, one for a birdie to regain the lead and another for par to complete a 4-under 67 and keep a one-shot lead in the Butterfield Bermuda Championship.

Noren will be going for his first PGA Tour victory and his first worldwide win since the French Open in 2018, the year the Swede played in the Ryder Cup.

“This is what you dream of, having a chance to win and being up in the final group on a Saturday, Sunday. I really enjoyed it today,” Noren said.

College basketball: Trey Alexander scored 21 points and Baylor Scheierman added 17 to lead eighth-ranked Creighton in an 89-60 victory over North Dakota State.

NFL: Police say six people including former NFL player D.J. Hayden died in a two-vehicle crash in downtown Houston. A Chrysler 300 sped through a red light early Saturday and collided with an SUV. Four people died at the scene, and two more died after being taken to the hospital. The driver of the Chrysler was among the dead, as was a man who police say was apparently homeless. Hayden was 33.

NHL: Robby Fabbri scored twice as the Red Wings beat the Blue Jackets 5-4 Saturday afternoon, handing the Blue Jackets their fourth straight loss. Lucas Raymond, Alex DeBrincat, and Daniel Sprong also scored for the Red Wings. Ville Husso made 17 saves.

Skiing: Mikaela Shiffrin dealt with a bone bruise in her left knee following a recent training crash to finish fourth Saturday in the first women’s World Cup slalom of the season. The defending overall champ trailed winner Petra Vlhova by 0.42 seconds after the opening run but ultimately finished 1.70 behind the Slovakian skier, who dominated the race.

Tennis: Italy reached its first final of the Billie Jean King Cup in a decade on Saturday after beating Slovenia in both singles matches for a 2-0 victory.
