Republicans are adamant that all abortions must be outlawed. They need to read the newspaper every single day and see the amount of men arrested and charged with child molestation. This is happening all the time, and I can’t imagine how many are not being reported. Maybe they need to spend a couple of weeks shadowing a Department of Child Services caseworker to see what is going on in the real world and how it affects real families.

Another mass shooting, and one that could have been prevented. This young man tried to commit suicide in 2019 and had threatened to kill family members with knives. But his family didn’t want to press charges or get him help. Instead, his father sponsored him to get a FOID card which allowed him to buy several weapons, which led to a mass shooting. When will these parents take responsibility for their actions? Maybe when they are charged.

The state of Tennessee has won a legal battle against a Jewish couple who were denied adoption assistance services by a Christian agency supported by taxpayer funds. The agency argued that they had the right to place children only with people who shared their religious beliefs, and the court agreed, even though the agency is funded by public money. Look for more of this state-approved bigotry to come, now that religious people of the “right” sort know that the Supreme Court of the United States will have their back. There is no reason even to pretend any more that “the separation of church and state” has any meaning whatsoever in the U.S. with this Supreme Court, and its imitators in state supreme courts in practically every single red state.

Nothing sums up the state of things in America quite as accurately as a mass shooting at an “Independence Day” parade.

Republicans are all for allowing open carry and ending the requirement for gun permits. They oppose universal background checks and refuse to ban assault rifles. Most of them even oppose so-called “red flag” laws. In the meantime, while they are being killed right and left by a heavily-armed populace, police still buy into the malarkey that Republicans are their friends. They are not your friends. They are the friends of your enemies.

Conservatives in England have removed Boris Johnson for his lies and incompetence. Too bad Republicans in America still don’t have enough honor or intelligence to cut loose of Trump. It means more to them to keep power than to protect our country.

I just learned today that Nancy Pelosi is one of the largest contributors to the Illinois Republican primaries.She is supporting Republican candidates that she wants to win with the logic being these candidates will appear inferior to her Democrat candidates? Only logic that a Democrat would dream of supporting. Just think — union dues, welfare and workman’s comp. money being spent on Republican candidates that support the working class?

The Virginia Law eliminated time off jail sentence for good behavior as a solution. Don’t commit a crime and you have all the free time you can handle.
