She had solo shows at Breadworks, Boulder, CO and at Cannon Mine Coffee which was Lafayette’s oldest coffee shop and music venue now closed. Over the years she has been juried into the National Art Shows held at the Louisville Art Center, Louisville, CO. She has won awards in all venues and sells paintings regularly. She currently works at her home in Lafayette, Colorado.
This exhibition that Colorado artist Margo McGrew is known for includes some of her calming landscape paintings and her new “Equine” series. The horses range from realism to taking up a notch steeping them in bright colors and texture. Deconstructing the image of the horse inviting the viewer imagination.
Her style leans toward impressionism with a modern contemporary expressionistic flair. Her work is primarily in water mixable oil paints and charcoal. Being a health conscientious artist, Margo strives to stay away from solvents, cadmium and cobalt colors which are bad for the environment.
