Age 86 of Maplewood, MN Passed away peacefully on December 31st, 2024. A beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Max will always be remembered for her kindness, big smile and ability to make friends with anybody. Born on January 14th 1938 in Cresco Iowa, Max was the oldest of four children from parents Manuel and Elda Herold. She met, fell in love, and married Velmar Voves, and they started a family. Three children, six grandchildren, four greatgrandchildren.<br><br>Max is survived by her sister Juanita (Bob) Bush; brother James Herold; sister-in-law Bernie Voves; son Thomas (Jaymee) Voves; son Michael Voves; son-in-law Todd Sletten; grandchildren Jacob (Jaimie), Lucas (Shonda), Taylor (Jared), Raelyn (Tier), Kelsey (Blake), Jared; great-grandchildren Marshall, Meadow, Miles, Kayden. Preceded in death by husband Velmar Voves; daughter Sandy; brother John Joe; brothers-in-law Bob Voves, Larry Voves; and sister-in-law Colleen Voves. A special Thank You to The Shores of Lake Phalen and Hospice.<br><br>A service will be held at Transfiguration Church on January 17th. Visitation at 9:30am, Mass at 10:30. She will be laid to rest next to Velmar at Fort Snelling Cemetery in the Spring.<div></div><br>
