Leaves and snow cover a car on Grand Avenue in St. Paul on Thursday. A record 1.26 inches (virtually all rain) of precipitation had fallen in the Twin Cities as of 7 p.m., beating the former Oct. 31 record of .85 inches set during the infamous Halloween Blizzard of 1991. While 28.4 inches of snow fell during that all-time record storm, it accumulated from Oct. 31 to Nov. 3.
