Swing and a miss.

The St. Paul Saints did a whole lot of that Saturday night at Victory Field in Indianapolis. They fanned 16 times — the second most in franchise history — while the Indianapolis Indians powered their way to a 9-2 victory, snapping the Saints’ four-game winning streak.

Chavez Young hit a double and drove in a trio of runs and Miguel Andujar connected on three hits while driving in another pair for the Indians (6-8), who got to Saints starter Simeon Woods Richardson early.

The Twins’ No. 8 prospect per MLB.com allowed 10 hits and five runs in 3 1/3 innings of work, taking his second loss of the season. Woods Richardson did strike out three while walking just one. The Indians got three runs off him in the second thanks to Young’s double, which drove in the first two, and Nick Gonzales’s triple, which brought home Young.

Unfortunately for the Saints (8-5), they didn’t get much better from the bullpen. Randy Dobnak allowed six hits and four runs in 2 1/3 innings as the Indianapolis lead grew to 9-2 by the end of the sixth. Connor Sadzeck finally calmed things down over the final 2 1/3 innings, striking out three and allowing just one hit and no runs. Dobnak struck out four.

In his second game on a rehab assignment, Joey Gallo went 0 for 4 with four strikeouts.

Tony Wolters hit an RBI double in the fourth inning for the Saints, driving home Andrew Bechtold, who also scored in the second on a wild pitch after hitting a double of his own. That was as much offense as St. Paul could muster.

The two teams return for the finale of their six-game series at Victory Field at 12:25 p.m. on Sunday.
