Rose Mary Sturbaum passed away on Friday, June 13th, at the age of 86. She was born in Iliff, Colorado on December 1st, 1938.

Rose was an amazing wife, mom, grandma, daughter, sister, and aunt. She loved her family so much, and cherished every moment with them.

Rose knew her husband, our dad Marvin, her whole life. They married on November 25, 1959 in Iliff, CO.

They shared 66 years of marriage. After moving quite often in their early married life, they decided to finally settle and raise their 4 girls in the country, outside of Longmont, in Enchanted Hills. Rose was an amazing gardener. Her gardens were so beautiful. And prosperous! She canned and processed all of her produce to help feed her family of 6.

Rose started her career as a banker early on. She worked at various banks through the job moves. Her last place of employment was with Empire Savings and Loan in Longmont. After a slight break, Rose decided to start her own business, Daves Rubber Stamp.

She made many stamps, back in the day, for just about every business, doctor, lawyer in town.

For as long as we can remember, our folks always belonged to card or dominoes groups.

Phase 10 was a game played often with Rose and her grandchildren.

She taught them everything they needed to know in how to win at Phase 10. After a while the card groups shifted to Bunco. She truly loved going to Bunco with her friends. They were all like family.

Rose and Marv traveled the world with family and friends. Some of Rose's favorite places were Germany, Austria, Panama, the Caribbean, Outer Banks, NC, Padre Island, TX, Canada, Nova Scotia, and fishing and camping in the Rocky Mountains with their kids.

Rose is survived by her four daughters, Shelley (Glenn) Durant, Lisa Sturbaum, Dee Dee (Dana) Patten, Stephanie Moss, 5 grandchildren, Carly (Nolan) Haynes, Cathrine Patten, Kyle Moss, Bridgit Patten and Merryn Durant.

Great-grandchildren, Jason & Kendall (Carly) Moss, Natalie and Allison (Kyle) Moss.

Rose's sisters and brothers, Dorothy White, Geraldine Schmit, Virginia Green, Ronald Sevalt, and Lorraine Sevalt and their children.

Rose is preceded in death by her husband Marvin, parents, Jake and Elizabeth Sevalt, her siblings Jane, Irene, Jim and Ray.

On Friday, June 27th, at 11:00 a.m., the Recitation of the Rosary will be held followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00 at Saint Theresa's Catholic Church, Frederick, CO.

Please join the family for a reception at the Saint Theresa's Parish Hall.

Memorial gifts may be made to the Saint Theresa's Ladies Auxiliary or Special Olympics. Rose's sister, Lorraine, was an important part of her life. Having a sister with special needs gave her such great respect and love for this under respected population.

Our mom had a heart of gold.
