



The dates for the Vikings’ voluntary offseason workout program — which begins April 21 — were announced by the NFL on Thursday.
Minnesota has three weeks featuring organized team activities : May 27-28 and 30, June 2-3 and 5 and June 16-18, The team’s mandatory minicamp is slated for June 10-12.
All offseason activities will be held at TCO Performance Center in Eagan.

Smith, Raiders agree to $75M extension
Quarterback Geno Smith, who was traded to Las Vegas nearly a month ago, agreed to two-year, $75 million extension with the Raiders.
Smith’s new deal takes him through the 2027 season and includes $66.5 million guaranteed.
The Raiders acquired Smith for a third-round draft pick from the Seattle Seahawks on March 7, but didn’t immediately come to terms on an extension. Smith had one year left on his contract, but general manager John Spytek said at this week’s NFL meetings in Palm Beach, Florida, that he expected an agreement would be reached.
Smith threw for 4,320 yards and 21 touchdowns with 15 interceptions last season in Seattle, and is now reunited with former Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll in Las Vegas.
Cardinals hand McBride 4-year extension
Star tight end Trey McBride has agreed to a four-year deal with the Arizona Cardinals as the franchise locks up one of the NFL’s best young players through the 2029 season.
Multiple reports said the deal is worth $76 million over the four seasons, including $43 million guaranteed, which would make him the league’s highest-paid tight end.
The 25-year-old was a second-round pick out of Colorado State and he’s improved dramatically each season. He was selected to his first Pro Bowl in 2024 after catching 111 passes for 1,146 yards, finishing second in the league for a tight end in both categories.
McBride’s 221 career catches are the most for a tight end in his first three seasons in league history, surpassing George Kittle’s mark of 216 from 2017 to 2019.
Keenum joins Bears on one-year, $3 million pact
The Chicago Bears added a veteran quarterback to help Caleb Williams, agreeing to a one-year, $3 million contract with journeyman Case Keenum.
Keenum has thrown for 15,175 yards over 12 years with Houston, the St. Louis/Los Angeles Rams, Minnesota, Denver, Washington, Cleveland and Buffalo. He has 79 touchdown passes and 51 interceptions.
Patriots trade QB Milton to Cowboys
The New England Patriots have agreed to trade quarterback Joe Milton III to the Dallas Cowboys.
The Cowboys will receive Milton, along with a seventh-round pick in exchange for a fifth-round pick.
The acquisition of the 25-year-old Milton gives the Cowboys a young backup behind starting quarterback Dak Prescott.

McCauley wraps at Nat’l Women’s Amateur
Minnesota junior golfer Isabella McCauley wrapped up her run at the 2025 Augusta National Women’s Amateur.
The first Golden Gopher to represent the Maroon and Gold in the event, McCauley missed the cut for Saturday’s final round at Augusta National Golf Club by just one stroke.
Competing at Champions Retreat Golf Club the first two rounds, McCauley bounced back from an opening-round 75 with a 69 in the second round, fueled by four birdies.

Minnesota advances to NCAA regional finals
The tenth-ranked Minnesota gymnastics team placed second at the NCAA Regional Semifinals with a score of 197.200.
The Gophers, along with No. 5 UCLA, will advance to Saturday’s Regional Finals against the top two scores of tonight’s session.
The Gophers earned 49.150 on vault, 49.375 on bars, 49.325 on beam and 49.350 on floor.
Minnesota’s Jordyn Lyden and Ava Stewart tied with UCLA’s Frida Esparza and Emma Malabuyo for first place with 9.900 bars.

Rockets’ Brooks banned after 16th technical
The NBA suspended Houston Rockets forward Dillon Brooks one game for picking up his 16th technical foul of the season after he appeared to kick Utah’s Collin Sexton in the midsection.
The Rockets will be without one of their key players when they host first-place Oklahoma City on Friday in a matchup between the Western Conference’s top teams.
Brooks, who’s averaging 14 points, was issued a technical with seven minutes left in the first quarter against Utah on Wednesday.
Brooks got stripped by Sexton as he went up for a turnaround jumper and, in midair, appeared to kick his defender in the midsection.

Benn’s streak comes to a close at 371 games
Stuck on 399 career goals for nearly a month, Dallas captain Jamie Benn sat out against the Nashville Predators, with coach Pete DeBoer saying it was for “maintenance.”
The 35-year-old Benn had played 371 consecutive games, scoring his 399th goal against Edmonton on March 8.
Benn has 16 goals and 29 assists in 74 games this season.

Tulane transfer QB Finley suspended, arrested
Tulane transfer quarterback TJ Finley has been suspended from the team indefinitely following his arrest for alleged possession of a stolen pickup truck.
The 23-year-old Finley was released without having to post bond after being booked Wednesday with possession of stolen goods valued at $25,000 or more.
Tulane issued a statement saying Finley has been suspended pending the outcome of his case. The university declined to comment further.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled for June 1.
