The Cincinnati Bengals have agreed to four-year extensions with receivers Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins, assuring that Joe Burrow will have his top two targets with him for some time.

A person familiar with the negotiations told The Associated Press that Chase will become the highest-paid non-quarterback in NFL history, earning $161 million, including $112 million guaranteed. That surpasses the $40 million per year average by Cleveland pass rusher Myles Garrett.

Higgins will get $115 million. The Bengals placed the franchise tag on Higgins but were hopeful of getting a new deal done.

The person spoke to the AP on condition of anonymity on Sunday because the team had not announced the move. Fox Sports was the first to report on the extensions.

Chase led the league in receptions (127), yards receiving (1,708) and touchdown catches (17) this past season, becoming just the sixth wide receiver in the Super Bowl era to achieve the receiving triple crown.

Bengals director of player personnel Duke Tobin reiterated recently at the NFL scouting combine that he wanted to make Chase one of the highest-paid players in the league.

“Ja’Marr is always going to be our priority,” Tobin said. “He’s a fantastic football player. He’s going to end up being the No. 1 paid non-quarterback in the league. We’re there. Let’s get it done.”

Texans’ Stingley to become highest-paid CB in history>> Derek Stingley Jr. has agreed to a three-year, $90 million contract extension with the Houston Texans that will make him the highest-paid cornerback in league history, according to a person familiar with the deal. The deal includes $89 million guaranteed, according to the person who spoke on condition of anonymity because the team had not announced it.

That makes his average yearly salary more than that of Carolina’s Jaycee Horn, who set the record for cornerback contracts last week when he agreed to a four-year, $100 million extension.

Steelers bring back WRs Miller and Skowronek>> Scotty Miller and Ben Skowronek are back for another go-around with the Pittsburgh Steelers. The Steelers have re-signed both veteran wide receivers to new deals.

Miller agreed to a one-year contract. Skowronek’s deal is for two seasons. Both receivers were minor role players for Pittsburgh in 2024.

Skowronek caught five passes for 69 yards while becoming a fixture on special teams. Miller also caught five passes for 69 yards, though he bounced between the 53-man roster and the practice squad at the end of the season.

Dolphins sign linebacker Britt>> The Miami Dolphins added linebacker help by signing veteran K.J. Britt.

Britt spent the past four seasons in Tampa after being drafted by the Buccaneers in the fifth round out of Auburn in 2021. He made 15 starts with 59 appearances for the Buccaneers, recording 105 tackles (56 solo), a 1/2 sack and three passes defended.
