The Bay Area is in for a stretch of pleasant and mild weather this week with a gradual warm-up in temperatures and mostly clear skies.

According to the National Weather Service, the temperature is expected to dip slightly below normal on early today, ranging in the mid-30s and low 40s, particularly in inland areas away from the coast. Some patchy morning fog is also forecast.

However, temperatures will steadily climb throughout the week.

“We will still see some cooler spots later on this week but nothing too bad,” said NWS meteorologist Joe Merchant. “It’s just going to be nice and pleasant weather during the daytime this week.”

By Friday, the weather is expected to be in the mid- to upper 60s, and leading into the weekend, temperatures may rise to the low 70s.The North Bay, including areas like Sonoma and Napa, may see some light rain on Wednesday. Unlike the downpour and strong winds last week, the rainfall in the North Bay is expected to be minimal — less than a quarter-inch over a couple of days.

“No atmospheric river, just some spotty, light rain. Nothing to be concerned about,” Merchant said.

The NWS does not expect rainfall for the rest of the Bay Area.
