
A 61-year-old man was fatally struck by two drivers as he tried to cross Manhattan’s FDR Drive on a snow and ice-slicked Thursday morning, police said.
The victim was crossing the southbound lanes of the FDR Drive near E. 34th St. at about 5:15 a.m. when a 26-year-old man operating a white Ford van slammed into him cops said.
A moment later, a Toyota RAV4 driven by a 57-year-old man also struck the victim, who died at the scene. The victim’s name was not immediately released.
No charges were immediately filed against the drivers. Cops were trying to determine if a wintery mix of snow and sleet blanketing the tristate area played a role in the crash.
About 12 hours earlier, a 90-year-old woman died on the Upper East Side when she was struck by a man operating a yellow cab and then run over by another driver, police said.
The woman was crossing York Ave. midblock near E. 72nd St. at about 5:40 p.m. Wednesday when she was killed, cops and witnesses said.
Early Tuesday morning, a woman was killed when her speeding Tesla crashed into a wall on the FDR Drive, overturned, and caught fire near E. 70th St. on the Upper East Side, cops said.
The woman and her 26-year-old passenger were thrown from the vehicle before it caught fire at about 2:45 a.m.
She died at the scene. Her passenger was rushed to the hospital with severe burns. Cops were still trying to determine the woman’s identity Thursday.
