Sunnyvale
“In a bucket glass – VO, water, no ice, with a lemon twist”
It is with deep sorrow weannounce the passing of Marilyn DeHart.
Born to Henry and Lucille Lange. An only child she was third generation born and raised in San Francisco.
Together with her husband Paul Barcos and two children Janelle and Steven she settled in the South Bay in the early 60’s. Calling Sunnyvale home for the majority of her days. She was most comfortable in the 94086. When her marriage to Paul ended after 10 years she raised her children primarily on her own. In 1989 she met David De- Hart and they married in November 1995. She was a huge Jeopardy fan and never missed an episode. She read the newspaper every day. Even on vacation she would read the local paper if she could. She loved doing her crossword puzzles. With just an eleventh grade education she would not hesitate to correct someone’s poor English. If you wanted to see her flip out you could just say “me and you ain’t going nowhere.” As Marilyn struggled with COPD for the past few years David was there doing everything he could to make her comfortable. With her strength and eyesight fading in recent years she still did her best to stick to her daily routine. Newspaper and coffee. Breakfast. Lunch. Cocktails. Dinner. Many things happened in-between but those five events were set in stone.
Marilyn is predeceased by her daughter Janelle. She is survived by her husband David, son Steven (Tena) and grandson Ian Andersen (Lalani). Thank you to all of the friends and family members that helped Marilyn and David through the challenging times. Bringing food.
Spending the night. Or just being there.
The last cocktail was poured on Dec. 20. Marilyn sipped it and then went home.
Acelebration of life will be held on Jan. 6at11:00 am at Lima &Campagna Sunnyvale Mortuary.
