Resident of Pittsburg

Linda Emalena Lacasse (Brown), 82, a beloved figure in her community, passed away peacefully on Feb. 6, 2025 with family by her side. Linda is survived by her husband of 63 years, Joseph Bertrand Lacasse, 88.

Linda was born in Portsmouth, NH, to Simeon and Grace Brown. She grew up in Seabrook, NH and graduated from Winnacunnet High. She studied accounting at New Hampshire College in Manchester, NH. This is where she met Joseph, they married in 1962 and moved to CA. They have resided on Richard Place in Pittsburg, CA since 1971 where she raised 6 children. Her home, aka “the Lacasse House” holds fond childhood memories for many in the community.

Linda’s career was defined by 38 years of dedicated work for Pittsburg Unified School District. In her role as Classified Director her helping hand left a lasting impression on many teachers and faculty in the school district.

She has been retired for 15 years.

She was currently serving as President of the Pittsburg Women’s Community League; she had been a very active member for the past 50 years. She enjoyed the community service and formed many terrific lifelong friendships with the ladies and their spouses.

Linda was a woman of faith and was a longtime member of Church of the Good Shepherd. Her son Luke was the 1st baptized baby when the church was at the Railroad Ave. location.

She was an extraordinarily talented quilter and has enjoyed weekly sewing club with friends during her retirement.

She enjoyed gardening, baking, making puzzles, and Friday breakfast with friends. Linda loved reading books and was always with acup of Lipton tea in her hand. Her favorite thing was family game night. Family was the cornerstone of Linda’s life.

Linda is survived by her children Jolynn Lacasse, Oakley, CA, Paul Lacasse and his wife Courtney Lacasse, Clayton, CA, Luke Lacasse, Tracy, CA, Patti Medine and her husband Don Medine, Brentwood, TN, Joel Lacasse, Santa Fe, TN, Louie Lacasse and his wife Teal Lacasse, Oakley, CA.

Linda is survived and will be deeply missed by her beloved grandchildren, Alec Medine, McKenna Lacasse, Lucien Lacasse, Aiden Lacasse, Connor Lacasse and Blake Lacasse.

Preceded in death by her father Simeon “Shag” Brown, mother Grace Brown, brother Jerry Brown, Linda is survived by her brother Maxie Brown, sister Sally Knowles, brother Irving “Manny” Brown, brother Thomas Brown, and brother Thad Brown.

Linda was agreat lady and loved bysomany, she had a kind and gracious heart. She will be remembered by her laughter, vibrant smile, and zest for fun. She loved to dance, anywhere, anytime! She leaves a legacy of abundant energy and spirit which she shared generously with her family, friends, and co-workers.

Memorial service will be held on February 26, 2025 at 9:30 am, at Church of the Good Shepherd, 3200 Harbor Street, Pittsburg, CA with a reception following at Antioch Golf Course, 4800 Golf Course Road, Antioch, CA.

We are encouraging anyone who so chooses to dress in lilac, lavender or purple her favorite color.
