


Senior Carter Wright had two hits and one RBI, and the playoff-bound Monte Vista Christian School baseball team beat visiting Alisal 4-1 in the teams’ Pacific Coast Athletic League Mission Division finale on Wednesday.
Seniors Tyson Shaw and Aiden McDaniel each had a hit, one RBI, and a run scored for the second-place Mustangs (21-5, 11-3), who posted their third 20-win season in the past four years. They rebounded from a 3-23 mark in 2024. Senior Dante Darnell and sophomore Mikie Melenudo each had a hit and run scored.
Darnell gave up three hits, one walk, and an unearned run over 6 1/3 innings while striking out four batters and earned the win. Sophomore Chris Bautista was credited with the save.
MVC plays at Willow Glen (19-6) in San Jose in a nonleague game to wrap up the regular season on Saturday at 11 a.m.

MVC 5, at Stevenson 4; T >> he Mustangs scored all five of their runs in the third inning and held on to secure victory in their regular-season finale Wednesday.
Freshman Addie Boles had a double, two RBI, and scored a run for the Mustangs (13-14, 5-11), who finished tied for sixth place in the PCAL Mission Division. Junior Samantha Bertoldi and sophomore Gianna Johnson each had two hits and scored a run. Senior Kayla Fullalove-Silveira doubled, drove in a run, and scored a run.
Freshman Maria Hall had three hits, one RBI, and a run scored for the Pirates (5-15, 1-15), who finished in ninth place.
Johnson struck out six batters over five innings and earned the win. Junior Nadia Patel struck out nine batters over seven innings but was tagged with the loss.
At Santa Catalina 18, Pajaro Valley 17 >> The teams combined for 35 runs, 19 hits, and 13 errors in their regular-season finale Wednesday.
Olivia Contreras had two hits, including a double, five RBI, and scored twice for the Grizzlies (7-13, 6-6), who finished in fourth place in the PCAL Cypress Division.
Junior Jaqueline Alvarez Zavala had three hits, one RBI, and scored three runs. Sophomore Hemeria Delatorre had a hit, one RBI, and scored three runs. Senior Angie Torres had a hit, three RBI, and a run scored. Senior Elena Barron and junior Virginia Escobar each had a hit, one RBI, and scored twice. Freshman Nadia Renteria had one RBI and scored three runs.
Delatorre earned the complete-game win with nine strikeouts. She gave up nine hits, seven walks, and three earned runs.
