The Bethel High badminton team lost to Hercules 13-4 on Thursday.

Winners for the Jaguars were No. 2 girls singles player Maria De Jesus Cota, as well as No. 4 boys singles player Montery Masalaysay.

The girls No. 1 doubles team of Kayla Domingo and De Jesus Cota also won, as did the No. 3 team of Jamie Concepcion and Vy Phan.

Bethel fell to 2-7 in the Tri-County Athletic League with the loss. The Jaguars next match is Tuesday at Pinole.

El Cerrito 6, Bethel 1 >> The Jaguars’ lone win came from the No. 3 doubles’ team of Kyle Ortiz and Alex Rosales 0-6, 6-2, 10-7.Baseball

St. Pat’s 18, Kennedy 2 >> John Bibb had three hits, an RBI and three runs for the Bruins, while Madden Mendez had two hits, three RBI, four steals and scored three runs. Trevor Moelk had two hits and two RBI, while Bo Smith had a hit, five stolen bases and scored three runs. Jaden Dichoco had a hit, drove home a run and scored twice. Xavier Brewer had a hit and scored twice.

As a team the Bruins stole 18 bases in five innings.

American Canyon 8, Napa 6 >> The American Canyon High baseball team defeated Napa 8-6 on Thursday, sweeping a two-game series during the week.

Royce Hall had three hits for the Wolves, who improved to 8-9 overall and 3-3 in the Vine Valley Athletic League. It was the team’s third win in a row.

Matias Garcia had a hit and two RBI, while Mason Harris, Andre Lopez, Dylan Brown and Cole Gholar also had hits.

Vallejo 7, Ygnacio Valley 4 >> The Vallejo High baseball team defeated Ygnacio Valley 7-4 on Thursday afternoon.

With the win the Redhawks improved to 10-6 on the year. They start a two-game series with Hercules on Wednesday.
