LOWELL >> Local martial arts school Tiger An’s Taekwondo, hosted the first Taekwondo Championships at its studio at 1519 Middlesex St. on May 6-7.
The 2004 Olympic Champion Dae Sung Moon taught an Olympic sparring seminar to more than 70 students. During the events, more than 1,000 students from 25 different taekwondo schools competed for school and individual medals presented by Olympian Dae Sung Moon, Grand Master Richard An, Grand Master Eunha An and Master Yoonchul Oh.
AAPI month celebration
LOWELL — Open Lowell invites the public to celebrate AAPI Heritage Month at the 1981 Ramen Bar on Thursday, May 18, from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m., 129 Merrimack St. Attendees can sample complimentary Asian cuisine prepared by 1981 Ramen Bar, District 5 Viet Street Food (opening soon) and Tea-Do.
Open Lowell is an initiative through the Office of the Mayor, the Lowell City Council and the Office of the City Manager, that promotes inclusivity to build communitywide relationships, serve as a platform for issues of diversity and inclusion through education and communication and to facilitate and celebrate positive change. Plant sale
DRACUT — The Dracut Garden Club is having its annual Plant Sale on Saturday, May 20, from 8 a.m. to noon, Harmony Hall Grounds,1660 Lakeview Avenue. Pick up some annuals, perennials, vegetables, herb plants and hanging flower baskets. The sale includes tool sharpening services for garden tools. Hybrid Solidarity Lowell meeting

Lowell Forward workshop
LOWELL — The City of Lowell and the Northern Middlesex Council of Governments hosts the Lowell Forward: Homes, Housing, and Community Citywide Workshop on Wednesday, May 31, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., Lowell Senior Center, 276 Broadway St.
This workshop is open to all members of the public, and will provide a chance for community members to share stories about their Lowell housing experiences, create a housing vision and housing goals together with the community and map the opportunities in their neighborhood.
Doors will open at 6:15 p.m. for registration, refreshments and snacks. All ages are welcome to attend. Khmer, Portuguese and Spanish interpretation will be provided at the event.
