TRONDHEIM, Norway>> Johannes Hoesflot Klaebo completed a historic sweep of the cross-country skiing world championships on Saturday, and he did it in his hometown of Trondheim.
Cheered on by around 100,000 fans, the Norwegian great claimed a rare victory in the 50-kilometers mass start freestyle for an unprecedented six for six at the Nordic worlds. “This is way more than I expected and dreamed of, so it’s unbelievable,” said Klaebo, after winning his 15th world title with his head bowed and his elbows on his knees.
Stars, Johnston agree on a $42M, 5-year extension
FRISCO, Texas>> The Dallas Stars signed 21-year-old center Wyatt Johnston to a $42 million, five-year contract extension at the same time that they made the biggest deal at the NHL’s trade deadline in acquiring Mikko Rantanen.
Johnston’s deal on Friday was overshadowed by the Stars getting Rantanen from the Carolina Hurricanes and signing him to a $96 million, eight-year contract extension. But keeping the young center is a significant move for Dallas.

Cole, 34, was tagged for six runs and five hits in 2 2/3 innings during a spring training start against Minnesota on Thursday. He told reporters that he felt good during the outing, but he got more and more sore after it was over. “Something wasn’t right,” he said Saturday.

Arizona State fires women’s coach Natasha Adair after 3 seasons
TEMPE, Ariz.>> Arizona State fired women’s basketball coach Natasha Adair after three seasons of not making the NCAA Tournament.
Adair was hired in 2022 to replace the retiring Charlie Turner Thorne after spending the previous five seasons at Delaware.
Arizona State struggled to gain traction under Adai and she went 29-62 overall.
