Robert “Bob” Bishop, beloved son, husband, father, and grandfather passed on April 19, 2022, the day after his 87th birthday. Bob is survived by his wife of almost 61 years, Meg Bishop, daughters Tami (Jeff) Brothers, Kim Bishop, and Kristen (Mike) Borsetti, and four grandsons, Brian and Kevin Brothers, Cheyne Bishop, and Roberto Borsetti.
Born in Oakland, California to Riley and Mary Bishop, Bob attended Saint Elizabeth High School (1953) and graduated from Cal State University, Hayward. He earned his MBA from Golden Gate University. At the 1956 Melbourne Olympics, Bob was an alternate on the US Olympic Track & Field team.
Bob was a telecommunications executive at AT&T, which took him and his family from the Bay Area to Bellevue, Washington, Los Osos, California, Middletown, New Jersey, Walnut Creek, California, and Chester, New Jersey. Bob also was in executive positions with Centigram Communications and the City of Fresno, CA. He and his wife, Meg, retired to Blackhawk, California, and moved to Rossmoor in recent years.
Passionate about his career, an avid backpacker, skier, tennis player, and USTA official, his was a life well-lived.
Interment will be private.
