Offering a variety of authentic southwest Mexican-style breakfast, lunch and dinner options El Pueblo is well-known for their flavorful, famous carnitas. Family-owned and operated since 2005, this quaint meat market and taqueria also offers several seafood options, homemade pozole, chile relleno, huevos rancheros, menudo and a full salsa bar.

Ficelle
“A delightfully random place to eat,” according to their website, this charming eatery features tapa (small plates) with a Spanish, Californian and Mexican influence. Ficelle offers a non-traditional menu that changes weekly. Some of the dishes often on the tapa menu include gambas al ajillo or shrimp sizzled in extra virgin olive oil with garlic and red pepper flakes, mini tostadas with chipotle chicken, eggplant stacks and wild mushroom ravioli. Ficelle also serves a variety of wine and beer and housemade sangria.

Green River Taproom
Located on a scenic four-acre venue, Green River Taproom and Brewery is a unique and fun-filled location boasting a hearty menu and a pay by the ounce beer wall which hosts 25 beers at a time. With options like cheesy bread smothered in a garlic aioli, cheddar and jalapeno, the classic Green River burger or quessabirria dip and activities like corn hole and live music, Green River is the perfect place to spend the afternoon. The rustic interior offers a comfortable and relaxing atmosphere for patrons to snack on cheeses from the Winters Cheese Company, which is located in the same building, and other savory treats as they sip on local wines.

Upper Crust Baking
Now with a second location in Winters, family-owned Upper Crust Baking originated in Davis in the ‘80s. Using French and Jewish baking traditions, this local favorite will definitely have your sweet tooth covered with East Coast delicacies like New York cheesecake and babka and French specialities such as fruit galettes and flaky croissants. The bakery, which has been specializing in artisan pan loaves for over three decades, also produces a wide variety of breads using fresh, locally sourced ingredients.
