King Donald

Wannabe King Donald of the United States of Trumpica continues to sink to levels that no one in history has ever seen. No, not his bro-spat with Buzzed Lightyear (Musk), but his incompetently executed and ham-fisted handling of the immigration raids in Los Angeles.

Deporting violent, undocumented immigrants with criminal records should be a no-brainer. But for the Village People-loving village idiot of a president, no task is too easy. Trump’s MAGA supporters probably love his tough talk and Stephen Miller’s callous immigration policy, which seems to be focused on the whitening of America.

Less than five months into his second term, rest assured, the worst is yet to come.

Why the suit?

So the administration of California sued the U.S. administration over its deployment of the California National Guard. To what conclusion?

Meanwhile how much does it cost the taxpayers to sue the federal government in what appears to be political grandstanding by Gov. Newsom?

Medi-Cal

As I read the Opinion article by Rafael Perez, “Should illegal Imigrants get Medi-Cal?” (June 8) I quickly recognized it was a great exemplar of “teleologic thinking.” Generally, when we analyze information, we scrutinize the facts and then develop a reasonable conclusion.

In a teleologic process, one works back from a desired conclusion and generates some, perhaps plausible, facts in support thereof; here why illegal immigrants deserve the same social services as the state’s indigenous residents, those whose families have been working, perhaps for generations, to make them and their community economically healthy.

Mr. Perez, however, made a good case of why, where someone who has paid in part for a cake, it’s OK to break into a house to get their share, even if the break-in has engendered a greater expense than the cake, or a shelf full of cakes? Go figure. Oops, please don’t! No mas. BTW, “teleology” was previously used to explain things such as how religion took precedence over science, like in the theory of evolution. Now that “logic” is commonly invoked into the political scene.

Failing DOGE

So the Trump-dominated U.S. Supreme Court has now ruled (June 7) that the Trump-failed DOGE department can now access Social Security systems containing personal data on millions of Americans? And for what purpose? For our benefit? Hell no!

Can this government get any crazier? Every Republican-led branch of the government — executive, legislative and judicial —drank the Trump Kool-Aid, and we are suddenly faced with a cult government, which doesn’t even pretend to care about the will of the majority of the people, with every ruling, bill and executive order clearly against us, the people.

Are you good with a lunatic like Trump or Elon Musk snooping around your sensitive Social Security personal info? I’m not!

I am sure of only one thing now: If Trump even thinks of cutting Social Security and/or Medicare, with all of our own money that we have already paid into that fund over many years, well, there will be a fearful uprising in this country that will make the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol look like a love fest in comparison.

Train to nowhere

Another great article covering all the reasons to stop funding the biggest taxpayer con job in the history of California.

This “train-to-nowhere” was originally set to have been completed by 2020 and so 25% late, and has yet to have 12 inches of track laid and we are halfway through 2025. Also, this 800-mile system is so far only going to cover a mere 119 miles, a 85.04% decrease! And, our California High Speed Rail authority is $90 billion over budget? Really?

Do Senators Adam Schiff and Alex Padilla really feel they are representing those who voted them into office?

Your statement: “There is no known source for the billions of dollars that would be needed to complete the line is the best comment one could make about this terrible project.—
