MILPITAS >> A person was found dead at a homeless encampment near Interstate 880 and Montague Expressway on Thursday, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The discovery was reported to the CHP about 6:20 p.m., CHP Officer Ross Lee said.

The person was not killed in a traffic collision and foul play is not suspected, Lee said. Their identity was not available Friday.
