Man shot, killed; suspect in custody
A man was shot and killed in Pine City, Minn., on Friday and shortly after with the help of witnesses, a 31-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of the death, authorities said.
The Pine County Sheriff’s Office gave the following details in a news release Saturday:
On Friday, deputies responded to reports of a shooting in the 57000 block of Barn Springs Road. When they arrived, they found a man who was dead. Witnesses said they had seen the shooting and fled to safety.
A 31-year-old man was arrested in connection with the shooting shortly after with the help of the Isanti County Sheriff’s Office. The man was being held at the Pine County Detention Center.
The sheriff’s office and the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension are investigating the death.
The victim’s identity will be released after an autopsy and his family is notified, the sheriff’s office said.

Hunter shot in face leaves the hospital
A man who was accidentally shot while hunting in rural Norman County, Minn., has been released from the hospital.
According to the Norman County Sheriff’s Office, Timothy Rousar, 37, of Fargo, N.D., was shot on the left side of his face by another member of his hunting party on Nov. 9, during the Minnesota deer opener in Lee Township, north of Perley.
Rousar was taken to a hospital in Fargo after being shot. According to a Friday news release from the sheriff’s office, Rousar was released from the hospital, though he still had a 12-gauge slug lodged in his sinus cavity.
The shooting was determined to be accidental and no criminal charges were filed, the sheriff’s office said.
Another hunter, a 34-year-old man from Dilworth, who was shot during the opener in Clay County later died, authorities said.
