


Paige Murphy had two hits and limited the opposition to three hits as the Archie Williams High softball team won a 1-0 pitchers’ duel against Salesian on Monday.
Murphy struck out 10 hitters and walked one in seven innings of work. Murphy also scored the lone run of the game for the Peregrine Falcons (4-0) in the third inning after a sacrifice fly by Lila James.
Murphy lowered her earned-run average to 0.27 in four games. Murphy has allowed one earned runs with 36 strikeouts and five walks in 26 innings.
• Thomara Drummer and Gabriella Alvarez had two hits apiece but San Rafael’s offense was otherwise stymied in a 7-0 loss to Monte Vista on Monday. Monte Vista scored two runs in the first, one each in the fourth and fifth, then added three more in the seventh. Drummer went the distance for San Rafael (3-2), allowing nine hits and five earned runs while striking out nine.
Prep baseball
San Domenico battled Bay School but fell 2-1 on a wild pitch in the bottom of the eighth inning on Monday. San Domenico (3-2) scored its lone run in the sixth inning. Julian Mackler led off the frame with an infield hit and came around to score when Oliver Bennett had an RBI triple.
Bennett also had a solid day on the mound, pitching 4.2 innings with four hits and one earned run.
Hall of Fame
KNBR host Brian Murphy is heading up a committee to launch an Athletic Hall of Fame for Tam. The inaugural ceremony is targeted for this October in Mill Valley. Boys tennis
Lukas Berger and Tito Adams prevailed at Nos. 1 and 2 singles, respectively, to lead Redwood to a 7-0 win against Novato on Monday. Roshan Kapur and Josh Friedman also had singles wins for the Giants.
College softball
Taylor Rodriguez pitched six strong innings but took her first loss of the season in a 2-0 loss to Biola on Monday. The Penguins (14-12, 5-5 PacWest) were held to one hit in the second game of the doubleheader after losing the first game 9-5.
Rodriguez allowed seven hits and two earned runs while dropping to 6-1 on the season. Kate Tobola and Tiare Guerrero had two hits apiece for Dominican in the first game. Guerrero scored three runs and Alyssa Rue had two RBIs.
Beach volleyball
San Domenico’s historic home debut on Friday ended in a 3-0 loss to Campolindo. San Domenico unveiled its on-campus beach volleyball courts for the season opener, with strong efforts from the Panthers’ Ashley Bryan, Carly Morris, Harley Vuong and Sarah Gordon. San Domenico is scheduled to host Half Moon Bay on Wednesday, weather permitting.
