Slime Kitchen, a hands-on slime-making experience, opened its newest location in Marin County this week.
The opening of the 1,787-square-foot shop at the Village at Corte Madera marks the San Francisco-based brand’s 10th location nationwide, fifth in the Bay Area, and first in North Bay counties.
Founded by Kathy Ando three years ago, Slime Kitchen offers a 10-step experience where customers of all ages create custom “slimes” by selecting bases, scents, colors, textures and mix-ins. The experience is designed to promote creativity and connection through hands-on play.
“Seeing Slime Kitchen grow from a fun family experiment into a thriving national franchise has been incredible,” Ando said in a press release. “With each new location, we’re creating more spaces where people of all ages can explore their creativity and experience the joy of hands-on play. Slime is more than just a toy; it’s a sensory, therapeutic experience that engages the senses, much like cooking in a real kitchen. Slime Kitchen is a place where creativity flows, ideas are born and everyone can unwind.”
The opening of the 1,787-square-foot Corte Madera shop continues the company’s rapid growth across California, Nevada, Oregon and Iowa. Four of its existing locations are franchise-owned, while the remainder, like Corte Madera, are corporate-operated.
The store is in space C17 at the Village at Corte Madera at 1618 Redwood Highway in Corte Madera. Hours are 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. weekdays; 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturdays; 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sundays.
