Watch out for these bank scams
Scammers are finding new ways to steal your card and money. Stay alert and protect yourself from these common tactics.
A scammer posing as your bank may call, text or email you unexpectedly, claiming there’s fraudulent activity on your account. They’ll ask you to verify your PIN to “confirm” important details. Legitimate banks will never ask for your PIN over the phone.
Next, they might claim the bank needs to collect your card or chip for security reasons or a so-called “recycling initiative.”
Banks will never request your old card back. When it’s time for a replacement, securely destroy your old card yourself.
Their aim is simple: steal your card, use your PIN and drain your funds — often within minutes.
Act fast. If something doesn’t seem right, contact your bank immediately.
