Juveniles arrested in bar shooting charged with attempted murder, assault

Two juveniles arrested in a shooting at an Adams County sports bar on Saturday were charged with attempted murder and assault in juvenile court, according to the 17th Judicial District.

The two juveniles were arrested after deputies responded to shots fired about 8:30 p.m. at the 52Eighty Sports Bar at 7575 Broadway.

Deputies found five people who had been shot, including the two juveniles, according to the sheriff’s office. The first suspect is charged with 14 counts, including four counts of attempted first-degree murder, four counts of first-degree assault, criminal trespass, possession of a handgun by a juvenile and four sentence-enhancing charges for an “aggravated juvenile offender.” The second suspect is charged with attempted first-degree murder, first-degree assault, possession of a handgun by a juvenile and one sentence-enhancing charge.

No charges planned in fatal construction site shooting of two, DA’s office says

The Denver district attorney does not plan to file charges in the Feb. 25 shooting at a construction site that left two people dead.

The shooting occurred when a construction site manager found two people who were possibly burglarizing the location in the 8500 block of West Belleview Avenue, according to Denver police. The manager confronted the two people and was assaulted, according to police, then pulled out a gun and shot them. The two people killed in the shooting were identified as Timothy Walker Jr., 40, and Patience McFall, 37.

Denver district attorney’s spokesperson Matt Jablow declined to comment further on the decision.

Passenger dies days after two-vehicle crash

A passenger from a Monday crash near South Parker Road and East Temple Drive died Wednesday, according to an Aurora Police Department news release.

A Jeep Cherokee and northbound Dodge Durango collided on South Parker Road around 2:45 p.m. Monday. The Jeep’s female driver and male passenger sustained serious injuries initially reported as not life-threatening. The male driver of the Dodge Durango suffered injuries that were not life-threatening. The Jeep Cherokee made an illegal left turn that resulted in the crash, police said.
