


A L’Anse Creuse North legend is returning to put on an event to highlight two of his favorite things: football and community.
Former Crusader Tyler Conklin, a seven-year National Football League veteran, is hosting the Tyler Conklin Foundation Community Festival on Saturday, June 21 at LCN from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m.
The free community event is hosted by the now-Los Angeles Chargers tight end and will feature several different things to engage with, including food trucks, bounce house, cornhole, a DJ and a vendor village for shopping.
There will be several other paid events during the day. “Raising Reptiles” will afford attendees to make a $5 donation in exchange for a photo with a reptile.A 7-on-7 basketball tournament will be hosted with a $20 donation to enter, starting at 3 p.m.
The winning team will earn a cash prize.
There will also be several youth football camps hosted by Conklin.
Starting at 2 p.m. will be the kids session led by Conklin.
Then, at 5 p.m. the middle school session will begin, tailored for kids between the ages of 11 and 14 to hone skills and fundamentals.
Lastly, to cap off the day, an invite-only NFL showcase will highlight the top talent in Michigan, beginning at 7:30 p.m.
Spectators will be free to watch as the state’s top wide receivers and tight ends work with Conklin and other NFL players for an on-field workout led by specialist James Everett Jr.
