Santa Barbara City College sophomore water polo standout Addison Lane, a Soquel High alumna, received a haul of accolades after leading the Vaqueros to the Western State Conference title and California Community College Athletic Association state runner-up finish.

Lane was named first-team all-WSC, first-team SoCal All-American, and first-team all-state after leading the Vaqueros (32-7 overall) in goals (99). She was also second on her team in assists (41) and third in steals (84).

She broke the school record for most goals scored in a single game with eight against Orange Coast on Oct. 28. Lane finished her two-year Vaqueros career with 164 goals, third best in program history.

Lane, who plans to compete for UC Santa Barbara next season, looks to shine for the Vaqueros’ swim team in the spring. She placed seventh in the 1,650-yard freestyle final at the CCCAA State Championships last year.
