Valparaiso school officials said in a notice to parents Thursday that administrators and the Valparaiso police have identified a student reportedly responsible for a school shooting threat directed at Valparaiso High School and posted on social media.

School officials and the police have concluded that the threat, one of a handful in recent weeks, was not credible.

The threat was reported after being discovered on social media, school officials said.

The student allegedly responsible for the threat has been identified and action will be taken in accordance with district policy, school officials said.
