Resident of Sausalito

James (Jim) Kettmann born July 17, 1951, died suddenly Thursday. September 5, 2024. He is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Ona Schissel-Kettmann of Sausalito. He leaves behind his brother John Kettmann (Debra) of Phoenix, sister Mary Ann Olsson (Andy) of Los Gatos, his god-son Matthew Olsson and loving niece Samantha Olsson Shear. He leaves numerous fun-loving cousins and friends, who biked, fished, played baseball, sailed, skied and survived Road-Runner trips with Jim around California. Jim had a wonderful laugh and sense of humor. His childhood best friend, Frank Pieper of Aptos, stated “I’d way too many good times with Jim when we were younger. Jim was more than a lot of fun”. James and Frank enjoyed surfing and golfing with friends and family in Capitola, California and Maui, Hawaii. We will all miss this child of God, and his videos of the Bay during foggy mornings and fantastic sunsets.

James was the youngest child of the late Norma and Jack Kettmann, and grandson of pioneering immigrants Mae McGuiness (1840s Ireland) and Louis Kettmann (1840s Germany), Percy Wilcox/Peckham (1860 England) and Anthony Rose (1850s Portugal).

Services are pending. Donations may be made to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (lls.org) in honor of Jimmy McGuiness, Holly, Marilyn, Dennis, Julie and Kim Kettmann.
